Some impacts of the Personal Data Protection Law from 2026

The Law on Personal Data Protection 91/2025/QH15, which will officially take effect on January 1, 2026, is a law with a broad scope of regulation, applicable to all agencies, organizations, and individuals directly involved in or related to the processing of Vietnamese citizens’ personal data. Notably, the Law supplements and tightens the responsibilities of data processing entities in several specific activities and sectors such as labor, insurance business, credit, media, and information technology.

Significant aspects of the policy on reduction of land lease fee reduction for 2024

On April 11, 2025, the Government promulgated Decree 87/2025/ND-CP stipulating the reduction of land lease fee for 2024. Decree 87 was formulated with the objective of supporting enterprises and individuals in responding to impending difficulties and challenges amidst economic uncertainties and risks, while concurrently providing assistance to localities affected by Yagi Typhoon in 2024.

Some highlights of the Decree on tax payment deadline extension

On June 17, 2024, the Government issued Decree 64/2024/ND-CP regulating the extension of the deadline for paying value-added tax, corporate income tax, personal income tax, and land rent in 2024. Currently, the Ministry of Finance is developing a draft Decree amending and supplementing the Decrees on collection of land use levy, land and water surface rent to (i) resolve some difficulties and obstacles in the actual process of collecting land use levy/land rents, and (ii) ensure effective exploitation, utilization of land resources and effective mobilization of revenue from land for the state budget.

New contents of the Circular guiding compulsory insurance in construction investment

On August 11, 2022, the Ministry of Finance promulgated Circular 50/2022/TT-BTC guiding Decree 119/2015/ND-CP on compulsory insurance in construction investment and Decree 20/2022/ND-CP amending Decree 119/2015/ND-CP regulating compulsory insurance in construction investment. This Circular takes effect from October 1, 2022 and replaces Circular 329/2016/TT-BTC guiding the implementation of Decree 119/2015/ND-CP regulating compulsory insurance in construction investment activities.
